Install & get started

Get the macOS app through Homebrew, inspect release assets, or build the command-line tools from source.

The macOS app#

The Homebrew cask installs PortPilot.app into /Applications.

Terminal
brew install --cask sriinnu/tap/portpilot

Inspect the Homebrew tap ↗

Release downloads#

Open GitHub Releases ↗ for published downloads and release-specific signing and notarization notes. Check the assets actually attached to the release you choose.

The repository describes macOS app, CLI and TUI archives, plus SHA256SUMS.txt and RELEASE.txt. A source version on this site does not establish that those assets have been published.

Build the CLI and TUI#

With Git and Swift 5.9+ installed:

Terminal
git clone https://github.com/sriinnu/portpilot.git
cd portpilot
swift build -c release --product portpilot
swift build -c release --product portpilot-tui

.build/release/portpilot --help
.build/release/portpilot list

Both binaries are in .build/release/. Run them there, or copy them into a directory on your user’s PATH.

Terminal
mkdir -p "$HOME/.local/bin"
cp .build/release/portpilot .build/release/portpilot-tui "$HOME/.local/bin/"

For app builds and contribution setup, continue to Development.
