Use PortPilot / SOURCE v3.5.7
The app & its surfaces
A compact menu-bar view, a full workspace, and seven ways to arrange the same local information.
From glance to inspection#
The menu-bar app is the quick way in. Open the full workspace when you need process identity, connections, observations, schedules and the surrounding context.
PortPilot’s interface directions are Instrument, Relay, Fieldwork, Focus, Shell, Play and Orbit. They arrange the same shared model in different ways. Choosing a theme does not change process authority or execution policy.
Ports and ownership#
Inspect the process, protocol, bind address and available resource information before acting. A listener bound to loopback differs from one bound to a wider interface. A bind address alone does not prove firewall reachability.
Project attribution is a useful clue. An executable’s name alone does not establish which repository owns it.
Observations and freshness#
Monitoring uses periodic, permission-limited connection snapshots. Paused, pending, degraded and empty states carry different meanings. Heuristic findings are evidence to inspect, not malware verdicts.
Use Controls & boundaries for Guard, proxies and scheduled commands.
Explore the browser studies#
The local browser studies show all seven workspace and menu-bar directions with synthetic data. Search, selection and dialogs are interactive; they are not connected to the operating system.
